Solid Board Packaging Factory Hoffmann Steps onto the Green Meadow to Step into the Future
The solid board packaging manufacturer Günter Hoffmann GmbH & Co. KG from Rellingen is building its new headquarters on the green meadow in the newly developed industrial area of the municipality Henstedt-Ulzburg.
Earthworks have started as of April and shell construction on 2 June. The topping has already been celebrated on Thursday, 26 June 2014.
In close proximity to the A7 are currently under construction approx. 4,500 square meters of production area, approx. 4,500 square meters of warehouse area and approx. 700 square meters of office and staff rooms. Upon completion, the building will comply with the latest energy standards. A geothermal system supplies the office complex in winter with regenerative heat and can be used in summer for an ecologically sustainable cooling of the rooms.
“After a strong business growth, particularly in recent years, the previous location in Rellingen had become too small and an extension was no longer possible,” said managing director Hans-Martin Dierßen about the situation before the investment decision. “With a new building, we now have the space and possibility not only to optimise the workflow but also to install additional processings machines.” The installation of another printing machine with six coulor decks and a coater, and two drying units will take place immediately after taking over the buildings. Also, two packaging robots are ready for installation.
The new production and warehouse areas are generously sized and ensure further growth opportunities. But the next step has already been considered: A further expansion of production and warehouse areas on the newly acquired land is possible. Right from the planning stage, the extension was already pre-thought in terms of statics, fire protection and logistics.
The Co. Günter Hoffmann GmbH & Co. KG has approx. 50 employees and is producing in several processing lines solid board packagings, which are used among other things in the fish, meat and vegetable industry under difficult climatic conditions. Germany, Scandinavia and England are the main delivery destinations of this traditional company.
“The location in Henstedt-Ulzburg is optimal because of its excellent logistical connections, proximity to the ports and short distance to Denmark,” outlined the managing director the reasons for the choice of location.
Completion of the building is scheduled for October, the relocation of the company will take place at the end of the year.
